Opposition Politicians Asking For "WikiLeaks" Investigation in Panama
(Panama-Guide) - La Estrella - After learning in detail the content of the classified US State Department cables published by the website Wikileaks, which exposed a request allegedly made by Panamanian president Ricardo Martinelli to the US government for support in regard to the wiretapping of political opponents, opposition sectors began to push for an in-depth investigation into the scandalous revelations. Yesterday, both the Popular Party and the Union del Pueblo (ULIP) agreed to formally request that the President of the National Assembly, José Muñoz, form an investigative committee composed of representatives of all political groups.
