Two Fired From Public Ministry In Corruption Case

alt(Panama-Guide) - TVN Noticias -  Two employees have been fired from their positions within the Public Ministry for their alleged involvement in corruption cases. The Anti-Drug Prosecutor of the Azuero, Milagros Valdés, was fired and arrested, because he was responsible for the release of alleged drug traffickers connected to the case of a plane that was seized in the region. Also fired was Eva Lorens of the Human Resources Division, because according to Attorney General Giuseppe Bonissi, there was some kind of a compromise that existed between the lawyer Alcibiades Ballesteros with Lorens, because she named Valdés in order for him to free the three persons accused of drug trafficking.

Bonissi said he is not afraid of the threats and that the investigations into this case will continue. The television cameras of TVN Channel 2 News captured how Lorens has his office finely appointed on the inside, however from the outside it looks deteriorated. He also had three luxury cars, but the Attorney General was only aware of one.

Naphtali Jaén, the Advisor to the Attorney General, said that once Lorens returns from Vienna where he is making an official visit, he will be taken to the office of Prosecutor Sofanor Espinoza who is conducting the investigations in this case. The Public Ministry has not ruled out the possibility that there are others involved in this network of corruption.
