Cruise ship port for Amador prospects

alt(newsroompanama.com) Plans to construct a cruise ship port in Amador, Panama, will take a step forward this week when Panama maritime executives meet with Miami port and cruise line officials.

Maritime Authority of Panama Administrator Roberto Linares and Panama Canal Administrator Alberto Alemán Zubieta will travel to Miami for two days of meetings with Miami Port director Bill Johnson, and Michele Paige, of Carnival Cruise Lines.

The project to build a cruise ship port in Amador has raised expectations in the cruise tourism industry, and will complement a similar facility in Colon.

“Our aim is to inform entrepreneurs and investors about the scope of this project," said Linares.
