$160,000 ad program to help drivers avoid traffic bedlam

alt(newsroompanama.com) The Ministry of Public Works (MOP)  plans to spend $160 000 to spread the word  for three months  of alternative routes for drivers  during major  infrastructure programs.

Ministers and officials have already predicted  massive jams as works on flyovers,  and the metro subway system get under way and have said that it is unlikely to ease for about three years.

The ministry has called for this advertising contract tenders  for a campaign the Ministry says: "will prevent or minimize discomfort."

The road programs will be coinciding with  the introduction of the new Metro bus system, intended to ease traffic programs, but already running into problems over construction of bus stations and dedicate bus lanes, and management of the  promised prepaid cards system. The first buses are scheduled to start one week before Christmas.

Perhaps it's time to take out the walking shoes.
