Pana-Expat Blood For Everyone

Pana-Expat "Blood For Everyone" campaign comes to Coronado November 20th as part of the CSA Christmas Craft Show. The mobile blood unit will be at La Carreta during the Craft Show to accept completed questionnaires and take blood donations. We need to have at least 25 people ready to donate and confirmed in advance of the event in order to justify calling the medical technologists and equipment to come from the city (we do not have the facilities here in Coronado), so please RSVP your intention to donate blood to: emerblooddonor@gmail.com (Sheila & Louise), preferably before November 15th. Please indicate if you have given blood before or if you would like to donate but have a medical concern regarding donation. See the attached FAQ's for general concerns.  When you RSVP an information sheet of Do's and Don'ts will be forwarded to you to review prior to the event.

The hospitals participating in this campaign are the Hospital del Niño (the children’s hospital), working jointly with Hospital Santo Tomas. Both hospitals will be receiving donations and/or additions to the EMERGENCY BLOOD DONOR CALL LIST (also referred to as the EBDCL) during regular Blood Clinic hours of operation (Monday through Friday of 7:00 a.m.-3: 00 pm and Saturdays of 9:00 a.m. -12 pm).

If you are unable to attend on November 20th other events are being planned such as the PANA-EXPAT “INVITE A FRIEND” EVENT on November 22nd at either of the blood banks in Panama City. Everyone is encouraged to bring a Panamanian friend or neighbour to all these events. You can add your name to the Emergency Blood Donor Call List and/or donate blood.

In regards to the Emergency Blood Donor Call List, blood sampling will only be necessary if you do not have official documentation proving your blood type. Any one with a Panamanian driver's license can present this ID instead of a blood sample.

Please participate in this very worthwhile cause; let us give back to the people of Panama who have shared the beauty of their Country with us.
