Panamanian News Media Outlets Unite in Protest
(Panama-Guide) - La Prensa - At 7:00 am this morning as a means of protest, the electronic media (television and radio stations) carried out actions of mourning in response to the recent Superior Court decision against two journalists. The initiative, joined by the various media outlets in the country, took place today, Friday, at the television, radio and national newspapers. Broadcasters will turn off their signals (the screens were black for 30 seconds) during the three newscasts - 7:00 am, 12:00 noon, and 7:00 pm. Meanwhile, radio stations also "turned off their signals" at 7:00 am while transmitting the news and morning talk shows. Every newspaper in the country printed page 2A in black.
