$300 million convention center planned for Panama

(newsroompanama.com) A $300 million convention center on the Amador Causeway is part of the Panama Tourism Authority’s master plan and will be in place by 2013 says deputy administrator Fernando De Leon.

The center is being constructed, he said,  to meet the demands of organizers looking to hold large events in Latin America. The complex will cost an estimated $300 million.

The center will be built on a 15,000-square-meter site part of it on reclaimed land.
