Spay Panama Blitz in Chorrera
The Spay the Strays Group has received many inquiries from expats concerning dates for our upcoming clinics. We are extremely appreciative for the support that you provide for the pets of your workers and for providing your own loving homes for the never ending supply of street dogs and cats who desperately need friends. As much as we want to help all of you, sometimes we just can’t. At this time, we have two more clinics planned for this year – one in October with one vet and one in November with two vets. Unfortunately, both of these clinics are already filled to capacity with animals who have been on waiting lists for months.
But there is some good news. Spay Panama, which is one of the non-profit vet groups that we partner with for our clinics, is having a two-day Blitz in Chorrera this weekend. It will be held both Saturday and Sunday at the Junta Communal which is close to the big park with the bandstand in Chorrera (an easy and quick drive from where you live). The price is $12 per cat and $25 per dog. However, these Blitzes are for pets of low income Panamanian families. They are NOT for expats’ animals - unless they are rescues. Sra Gladys is taking appointments at 6470-4228 but she speaks only Spanish. If you want to take an animal and can not speak Spanish, contact Mary at 6752-5815 and I will make the appt for you and give directions.
