Prosecutor Clarifies Status of Cases Against Ernesto Perez Balladares

(Panama-Guide) The Special Prosecutor Against Organized Crime issued a statement clarifying the status of the case of former president Ernesto Perez Balladares. The prosecutor explained that the investigation against Perez Balladares is pending, awaiting the completion of the writing of the corresponding "prosecutor's opinion", with the expiration of the extension granted by the Ninth Circuit Criminal Court of Panama. The disclaimer comes after the Fifteenth Criminal Court issued a summary dismissal in the case and investigation that was being carried out by the Third Anti Corruption Prosecutor. This case is unrelated to the investigation being carried out by the Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime.
