Five companies bid to manage Panama subway

(newsroompanama.com) Five groups interested in providing management services and technical assistance for the construction and launch of Panamas much-trumpeted subway system - the Panama Metro.submitted proposals on Monday, August  9.

Quotes ranged from a low ball $28 million to a high of $37.9 million.

Robert Roy, Secretary of the Metro project, said that the evaluation of the proposals will take approximately five days, and the announcement of the winning consortium can be expected on August 16.

The next day the  the tender for the actual construction of the project will be launced. This  according to Roy, will be handled differently because it is a tender for an amount greater than the proposals submitted on Monday.
