newsnviews2.jpg(Panama-Guide) _ TVN Noticias _ Panama has already formally requested the extradition of William Cortez, alias "Wild Bill" and his wife Jane, who were both captured yesterday on the San Juan river, between Costa Rica and Nicaragua. However, Nicaraguan authorities will have to determine under what profile they will turn "Wild Bil" (and his wife) over to Panama, which could occur under a law enforcement agreement which is in place between the two countries, or through a regular extradition process. The first would take two days and the second about 3 months. While this procedure is being performed, at the Cortez residence, located in the province of Bocas del Toro, where three bodies have been found buried, prosecutors and investigators continue to search and dig, looking for more victims. The team conducting this investigation has been augmented with about 20 forensic experts who are working to locate and check the various locations where additional bodies might have been buried, and it is also expected the FBI will be providing dogs specially trained to located human remains. Panamanian authorities have also requested legal assistance from the Netherlands to check Cortez's fingerprints of Cortez and to confirm whether they are citizens of the Netherlands or not, due to doubts which exist about their true nationality. It was learned that the pair of alleged serial killers in recent years were in Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, and Panama.
