The couple was arrested on the San Juan river in Nicaragua where they were traveling in a boat, and they refused an order to stop given by the authorities. The Assistant Attorney General of Panama, Angel Calderon, confirmed they would request the extradition of Cortez, and said there are a total of seven missing persons in Bocas del Toro, four foreigners and three Panamanians.
