CONATO Calls for General Strike in Panama
(Panama-Guide) - Panama America - The National Council of Workers (CONATO) and the Federation of Workers in the Republic of Panama declared a general strike to force the government to repeal the controversial Law 30. Both union groups will formalize their call for a general nationwide strike at noon today, according to a press release. Meanwhile, this afternoon at the Hotel Soloy, the "Sindicato Único de Trabajadores de la Construcción y Similares" (Suntracs) will hold an assembly of their members during which they will decide what actions they will take in the coming week, with a view towards a possible strike.
