Latest News from Spay the Strays

The place to have been on Wednesday evening was Rincon del Chef! The Spay the Strays Group had an overflow crowd of participants who enjoyed dinner and then adjourned to the back building for rousing games of Bingo. Lucky winners received donated items from our sponsors: a $20 gift certificate to Picasso Pizza, an overnight stay at a beach house including wine and appetizers from Panama Coast Rentals, a heavy duty drill compliments of HIM Ferreteria, two bottles of wine from Concept Panama, a $15 gift certificate to Rincon del Chef, a DVD player, and gift certificates for homemade desserts!

Spay the Strays were winners too! Due to the generosity of our supporters and a previous patio sale in El Valle in which we sold gently used clothes to local residents, we can now finish spaying and neutering the 40 dogs and cats from Las Lajas and the dozen from Sora who are on waiting lists from earlier clinics this year. These fundraisers are just in time too since our coffers were empty!
 
Remember that Cheryl has a Serenity Stones for Pets Day planned for the afternoon of July 2nd. I'm sure we can all attest to the fact that our pets could use a little serenity!! She will also be selling her jewelry at reduced prices and there will be other items for sale too such as used books, CDs, catnip mice, and homemade dog biscuits. Stay tuned because Spay the Strays has a few more FUNdraisers planned so that we can start 2011 off with a BANG! ALL our profits are 100% returned to the local community with absolutely NO fixed overhead costs.
