Panama Chiropractic Mission May 2008

A Chiropractic Mission to Panama has been scheduled for May 24 through May 31, 2008. After weeks of communication, I received an e-mail earlier last week from Lina Guillen, that the humanitarian mission trip has been confirmed. Lina told me that she has met with Juan Carlos Navarro, the mayor of Panama City, and the country will be preparing for the arrival of volunteer chiropractors on May 24th.

After nearly 11 years, I continue to receive e-mails every week regarding former trips to Panam. I hear from people we took care of there, I hear from chiropractors looking to participate in future events, and I hear from people that want to duplicate the model of service in other countries. It pleases me greatly to be announcing a 2008 Chiropractic Mission Trip to Panama.

According to Lina, visits with the mayor went very well and they are excited about the dates that have been set for the end of May. She informed me that they would like at least 100 chiropractors attending so that many different areas could be covered. As has been required in previous missions, all legal documentation will need to be received prior to providing care. Interested chiropractors are expected to have all paperwork provided to Lina by April 25, 2008. That includes a copy of ones chiropractic license and diploma. Registration fee will be $150 (same as in previous years).

Chiropractors planning on attending must arrive by May 25 (preferably the 24th) and must expect to remain through the 31st of May. The mission will officially begin on Monday the 26th and will end on the 31st (which is a Saturday).

Lina is in Panama and will be there from now through the mission. She can be reached at (507) 399-7747 and her cell phone e-mail is Linosky71@cwmovil.blackberry.com.

Expect that Planet Chiropractic will have more related posts coming to you very soon and there are dozens of articles available from previous missions if you want to get a feel for what goes on. While this one is from 2004, it serves as a good template as to how much the trips cost, how long you can expect to be adjusting, answers on religion, reimbursement, and proper dress.

You're welcome to e-mail me (yellow envelope above) with specific questions regarding this trip and I will address them in follow-up posts.
