Balbina Herrera Loses Immunity From Prosecution in CEMIS Case
(Panama-Guide) - Telemetro - The former National Assembly Deputy Balbina Herrera went to the offices of the Public Ministry this morning to notify Panama's Attorney General Giuseppe Bonissi that she has resigned her electoral immunity. Herrera waived the privilege, after Bonissi confirm he had formally requested the Electoral Tribunal to lift her immunity (as a recent presidential candidate) so that she could be cited to render a formal sworn declaration in the investigations being conducted into the notorious CEMIS scandal.
