Former Police Chiefs Weigh In On Crime (2.4 Murders Every 24 Hours)

newsnviews2.jpg(Panama-Guide) - El Siglo - With the increase in murders in the first quarter of 2010 (290) compared with 2009 (243), three former directors of the National Police agree that the National Government does not have a coordinated plan to deal the problem of security in the country. Ebrahim Asvat, former director of the National Police, said the violence has increased in the absence of a plan, since one can not combat this problem without a security strategy. "You have to go in making a kind of house cleaning, we are on track to prevent this situation, but through a coordinated program, especially in urban areas," said Asvat.
