Supreme Court Justice Mejia Will Remain on Perez Balladares Case

(Panama-Guide) - La Prensa - With two dissenting judges, the full Supreme Court of Justice rejected an impediment presented by Judge Jerome Mejia to withdraw from the investigation against former president Ernesto Perez Balladares, for the crime of money laundering. Mejia presented an impediment saying he should not hear a request soliciting a review of constitutional guarantees presented by Carlos Carrillo, a lawyer representing the company Holding Shelf, which is linked to Perez Balladares.
