British Festival Orchestra to Play in Panama

This season’s kickoff event for the Panama National Concert Association features the London Festival Orchestra in concert at Balboa Theater at 8 pm Monday, April 26. London Festival Orchestra is one of the foremost British orchestras, holding its concert season at the Southbank Centre, Barbican Center, and Codigan Hall. The orchestra tours frequently with the Seoul Olympics and a visit as cultural ambassadors to Argentina after the Falklands War on its credits. General admission for this concert will be $60 and a set of six tickets for the season will be $135.

The National Concert Association, Asociación Nacional de Conciertos, will present a subscription series of six concerts plus one free concert for its 2010 season. Since 1962 the National Concert Association has been bring internationally acclaimed artists to Panama. The association started its music camp in 1985 making 2010 its 25th year. The concerts raise money to support the camp and other educational programs throughout Panama. The association offers interest free loans so that young musicians may purchase instruments and the association presents free concerts by camp musicians at many locations throughout Panama.
