The Changing face of Coronado

You've driven by it a hundred times. Your either looking forward to it or dreading it. But either way  you know it's coming, the Coronado Mall. It's huge. It's changing the skyline of Coronado and it's going to change many of our lives here in Panama.  Haus, the general contractor, as well as retailers such as Super 99 and HSBC have done their homework. From Chame to Rio Hato there are approximately 50,000 residents. The builder is aware of the many condo projects going up in the area and with 10,000 vehicles passing the entrance to Coronado every weekend this is the place to build. 

The Coronado Mall is currently scheduled to open the Super 99 grocery store on March 15. The right side of the mall, the wing behind McDonald's, has a target date of April 1 and the left side of the mall has a target date for May 1. Remember all dates are approximate.  And it promises to bring us many of the conveniences that have been missing from the beach area. Again the Super 99 grocery chain will be the largest client of the mall with currently confirmed clients such as HSBC, Optima Business Center, Tango Grill, Panama Sol Realty, Cable Onda and McDonalds. The mall is still looking for such businesses as  hair salons, dental clinics, pizza restaurants, a gym, ice cream shop, sandwich shop, and an art gallery. Office are available for services such as attorneys, travel agents, video stores, clothing stores, interior designers and furniture galleries. If you are interested in inquiring about space in the mall Panama Sol Realty is handling the leasing of space. 

The new mall as you can see will have three levels of stores. The lower level is being designated to retailers such as Super 99, a pharmacy,department stores or furniture stores. The second level will contain a lovely food court offering wireless internet and a  panoramic view elevator for those requiring assistance to reach the upper levels. Also included on the second floor will be services such as dentists, hair salons, a spa, laboratory and a children's play area. 

Underground parking is also available here allowing us to keep our vehicles just that little bit cooler during the day. A nice touch is 24 hour security as well as closed circuit cameras all over the mall. 

So keep an eye out on the continuing development and hey, maybe we can meet in the courtyard for coffee???
