No Punishment For The Corrupt

(Panama-Guide) - Source: La Prensa - Most of the cases considered to be "high profile" in the Republic of Panama never even make it past the investigation stage, and not even one of these has ended with a conviction. Almost all of these cases are dismissed in the middle of the investigation for lack of evidence or due to parliamentary immunity. This is the conclusion of a report prepared by the Citizens Alliance for Justice, a network of organizations working to reform and improve the justice system in Panama, which performed an analysis of the status of 28 "high profile" cases, all linked to acts of corruption by government officials.
