Scheme Makes It "Mathematically Impossible" For Northern Corridor To Return to Panama's Control

A formula that allows the company PYCSA to include interest on the debt for the construction of the Northern Corridor as part of the recoverable amount, makes it practically impossible for the highway to return to Panama as stipulated in the contract. The Minister of Economy and Finance, Alberto Vallarino, said on TVN news that because of this measure it is mathematically impossible for Panama to recover the Northern Corridor.
