Comprtoller General Will Audit the Social Investment Fund

(Panama-Guide) - Source: Panama America - The President of Panama's National Assembly, Jose Luis Varela, said due to stories appearing in local newspapers this week about a multi million dollar embezzlement of money from the Social Investment Fund (FIS), he has asked the Comptroller General of the Republic to promptly initiate an audit of the FIS. "The FIS is an entity used by municipalities, lawmakers, local representatives, mayors, and the Executive Branch to execute projects for the benefit of communities in the country," he said.
