Government Working Shorter Shifts to Save Energy - Starting Monday

newsnviews2.jpg(Panama-Guide) - Source: TVN Noticias - In an attempt to conserve energy, starting Monday, 18 January 2010, most of the offices of the Panamanian government will start working on a special temporary schedule of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. This change was issued via Executive Order Number 48 of 14 January 2010. The government is anticipating energy shortfalls thanks to lower than normal rainfall due to the El Niño conditions which are affecting the country. Government offices which by the nature of the services they provide have special shifts will remain working their normal schedules and are not affected by the special schedule.
