2010 Summer Fairs Schedule in Panama!

A month ago the direction of the wind changed here in Panama, the daily torrential rains quit, and the air got dryer. It is summer,  time to go to the beach and time to visit the many fairs throughout the country. As the North lies under a blanket of snow suffering from artic winds unhampered by anything except a barbed wire fence just south of Fargo, Panama is gearing up to have a good time. In the city folks are stolling along the Cinta Costera, Carnaval is approaching, and communities throughout the nation are organizing their local celebrations.

If you have never attended a fair in Panama think of a county fair in North America. For large fairs such as the David International Fair think of a state fair in Iowa or Indiana. Think of chorizos instead of bratwurst and and cerviche instead of batter fried walleye on a stick and you will be right on. Both settings will boast cotton candy, rides, lots of beer, and the best of local crafts.

The summer fair season in Panama has its semi official start in Boquete with the Flower and Coffee Fair which is currently underway, January 7-17. Upcoming fairs are listed below.
