The event was held in the auditorium of the headquarters of the Ministry of Health and was attended by president Ricardo Martinelli, his wife Marta Linares de Martinelli, ministers, health officials and the public. Although according to the schedule Martinelli was supposed to have been one of the first to be vaccinated, he did not get the shot saying "those who should be vaccinated first are the people."
