Corrupt ATTT Officers Fired For Taking Bribes
(Panama-Guide) (Source: Betzaida Flores for El Siglo) Authorities surprised the officials with their hands in the cookie jar. At least nine inspectors from Panama's Ground Transit and Transportation Authority (ATTT) have been fired since 1 January 2010 for alleged acts of corruption. The officers demanded bribes from drivers in exchange for not being fined, said Marco Moras, an advisor for security and operations at the ATTT, in speaking about the dismissals. He clarified that some of the inspectors were fired for being part of the offense (complicity) and thus were removed from office.
