Arrest Order Issued for Former Panamanian President Ernesto Perez Balladares
(Panama-Guide) By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - This morning Panama's Public Ministry issued an arrest order against former Panamanian President Ernesto Pérez Balladares, who is accused of money laundering due to his connections to a company called Shelf Holding, which the former president controls and through which he received money from another company called Lucky Games S.A. Ernesto Perez Balladares was the President of Panama from 1994 to 1999, and he has been associated with many corruption scandals, mostly related to questionable practices involving kickbacks for lucrative government contracts and concessions.
