Build it and they will come!!

And so they did, owners Owen and Mariela, already famous for Cholos in San Carlos, decided we've got a good thing going here, why not do it again! And so on Wednesday December 16 Cholos second location opened. What a party!! Those of us who visit Cholos on a regular basis were anxiously awaiting the opening of the new location which is now between Gorgona and Coronado on the beach side of the highway. The sign had been up on the highway for several weeks and we were all anxious to see what it was going to look like.  ( see photos) The inside is just as big as the first location with 7 tables , seats at the bar and now 4 tables outside on the covered terrace. With local colors of bright green, red and blue and a broken Mosaic tile floor the mood is very festive. The new location now also has two washrooms!!! No more sharing!! As for the  new bar area, created by Sterling Pacific in Gorgona, it is really awesome.  A lovely blue concrete creation with shells and marbles.

That afternoon the drinks were flowing!! Guest bartender Barry Ellis was mixing up some great tropical concoctions. There was a  Funky Monkey containing bananas, chocolate rum and Baileys. Or perhaps your preference was pineapple, there was also a Pina Pants containing pineapple, rum and amaretto. If your preference was more the famous Cholos margaritas, well there was plenty of those inside along with free T-Shirts to the first 20 guests.

Cholos 2 has the same great menu you have come to know in San Carlos but what you may not know is that in the next few weeks this new location will also be opening for Sunday breakfast!! Hours will be 8am to 11pm. The new location will be open the same hours you are used to, noon to 9pm Wednesday to Sunday.
