Former Municipal Engineer Jaime Salas Arrested on Corruption Charges

(Panama-Guide) By Meredith Serracin for the Panama America - After spending several days as a fugitive from justice, the former Municipal Engineer of Panama City, Jaime Salas, surrendered Monday morning to the Office of the Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime, where he was immediately detained and taken to a holding cell in the Direction of Judicial Investigation (DIJ.) Salas came to the prosecutor's office accompanied by his lawyer Rogelio Cruz and he did not make a sworn statement because his lawyer filed an appeal against the order for him to appear.
