Juan Carlos Navarro Kicks Jaime Salas To The Curb

(Panama-Guide) By MONICA PALM for La Prensa - Former Panama City Mayor Juan Carlos Navarro distanced himself yesterday from the legal proceedings against his former Municipal Engineer Jaime Salas, who is currently under investigation for money laundering and illicit enrichment. "The only person responsible for the decisions he made as the Municipal Engineer, is the official himself," said Navarro in talking about the problems being faced by Salas. Navarro said the Directorate of Municipal Works and Construction has full autonomy, by law, and that his office that of Salas functioned "in harmonious coordination," but separately.
