Challenge Planned Against Law To Allow Panama's Departure from the PARLACEN

newsnviews2.jpg(Panama-Guide ) TVN Noticias - Dorindo Cortez, who is a Representative from Panama before the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN), said today that the bill being discussed in the National Assembly that will approve Panama's departure from the PARLACEN violates Article 63 of the Constitution and therefore it is an "institutional coup." "No public official can violate the laws of the country," he said, and he went on to announce that if the bill is approved he will submit two challenges, one before the Supreme Court of Panama and another before the Inter American Court of Justice, because Panama signed the Protocol of Guatemala which make the decisions of that court binding.
