Fundación Gramo Danse: Dance Recitals in Chorillo and Panama City

In 2008 Fundación Gramo Danse initiated its Danzárea dance project in El Chorrillo. With scholarships for classes in modern dance, areal ballet, classical ballet, choreography, physical conditioning, and improvisation for both 2008 and 2009 provided by local sponsors children have been learning to dance. Now, at the end of the year Fundación Gramo Danse is presenting recitals by these children on Fri Dec 4 in El Chorrillo from 3 to 4 pm at the Gimnasion Kiwanas and Sat Dec 5 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Gimnasio Power Club on Avenida 12 de Octubre.

Danzárea had twenty students in 2008 and twenty-eight this year. Scholarships were provided by Club Kiwanis de Panamá, Fundación Sus Buenos, Vecinos del Banco General, Gimnasio Kiwanis Chorrillo, and Gimnasio Power Club. The project was developed to teach the children to dance but also is meant to instill values of health, and physical activity, increase self esteem, and to teach discipline and the ability to work in groups.
