veterans_day_observance_thumbnail.jpgMajor hostilities of World War I were formally ended on the "11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month" of 1918, with the German signing of the Armistice, which is why Veteran's Day is celebrated on 11 November every year. This ceremony is an opportunity to stop for a moment to recognize the contributions and sacrifices of the men and women who have served and who continue to serve the United States of America as members of the armed forces.
