MEF Agrees To Make Chages to Prop 71
(Panama-Guide ) By IRMA RODRIGUEZ REYES for La Estrella - PANAMA. The first day of public consultations on Proposition 71 that would repeal the recently passed Law 23 which allows for the titling of island and coastal lands were concentrated yesterday on the new width of the sea shore that the proposal intends to change. The new law intends to establish a zone 47 meters wide which has created a dispute between landowners and the proponents of the law. The dispute arises from the proposal that would establish a 47 meter wide "sea shore" zone, measured from the high tide line, but the approximately 50 people who were present in the Blue Hall of the National Assembly yesterday said they live in that zone.
