Panamanian Involved in Counterfit Drug Ring Convicted in the US
(Panama-Guide) By Grisel Bethancourt for La Critica - A Panamanian arrested in the United States, linked to the sale and distribution of counterfeit medicines shipped to the US from Panama, has been convicted in the United States and remains in prison awaiting sentencing. This case is being investigated in Panama by the Special Prosecutor for Crimes Against Intellectual Property, Ramiro Alejandro Esquivel, who said it seems the drugs seized during a raid on an apartment in Campo Lindbergh in Juan Diaz on 22 September 2009 were original (meaning, not counterfeit.)
