Martinelli Pressuring Human Traffickers of Undocumented Chinese Aliens
(Panama-Guide) TVN Noticias - Panama's President Ricardo Martinelli said this morning that in Panama "the illegal trafficking of undocumented Chinese aliens has ended," because they are going to change the rules of the game. "We are going to pass a law so that all undocumented Chinese immigrants who want to legalize their status will have to comply with the rules," he said. "Here (in Panama) we have had people who were officials in previous governments, who were engaged in the activity of charging these undocumented aliens (bribes) in order to legalize their status in the country," said Martinelli. But that situation is over, said the President who announced that next week he would meet with leaders of the Chinese community in order to find solutions to their concerns.
