Taxi Permit Scandal First for Martinelli's Administration
(Panama-Guide) By RAFAEL E. BERROCAL R. for La Prensa - It seems like Panama's Ground Transit and Transportation Authority (ATTT) will be the source of the first corruption scandal to taint the brand new government of Ricardo Martinelli. La Prensa has learn that about 200 temporary permits were granted to taxis without complying with all applicable procedures during the first four weeks of the current administration. All of these temporary operating permits are dated 27 July 2009 and were signed by the Deputy Director General of the ATTT, Roberto Moreno, who is a member of Ricardo Martinelli's Cambio Democratico political party.
