Panama Recognizes Slim Chances of Near Term FTA Ratification
(Panama-Guide) La Critica - Panama's Minister of Commerce and Industry, Roberto Henriquez, acknowledged today that the FTA between the U.S. and Central American country will not be ratified in the short term due to the priorities of the government in Washington. "The timing is very important, and the government of U.S. President, Barack Obama, is aimed more at resolving domestic policy issues," said the National Director of the International Commercial Negotiations office of the MICI, Diana Salazar, in a meeting with business leaders today.
