Fatal Bus Crash Near Baseball Stadium

newsnviews2.jpg(Panama-Guide) By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - Two people were killed and more than 30 injured when a speeding bus flipped over into a drainage ditch this morning near the entrance to the Rod Carew National Baseball stadium on the road that runs past Cerro Patacón towards the Centennial Bridge. The bus that covers the El Ingenio - Kuna Nega route flipped over, slid across the road, and ended up in the ditch. About half of the passengers and many of the injured were children on their way to school. Both the driver and his assistant were killed in the crash. According to witnesses, the driver was speeding and the bus was overloaded, and the driver lost control of the bus when he reached over and tried to close the door.
