SINAPROC Sending Aid to Flood Victims in Bocas del Toro

newsnviews2.jpg(Panama-Guide) La Prensa - Panama's National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) issued an alert for areas of the Bocas del Toro province after heavy rains caused flooding in the indigenous regions, leaving 300 people homeless and 60 houses affected. SINAPROC Director Arturo Alvarado said they have already dispatched humanitarian aid to the community of Ño Tolente which was the worst hit by the flooding. "Humanitarian aid left from Panama City and was taken to Chiriquí Grande via ground transportation early in the morning and will be transported to the community of Ño Tolente, a trip that takes approximately 45 minutes via boat," he said.
