Insulza Urges US Congress To Approve Free Trade Agreement

newsnviews2.jpg(Panama-Guide) OAS Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza, today urged the U.S. Congress to approve trade agreements with Colombia and Panama because, he said, the future of free trade in the region depends on those agreements. "If the U.S. Congress approve agreements with Colombia and Panama, and Canada commits to other bilateral agreements currently being negotiated, they would be closing commercial agreements in almost all of the region," said the head of the Organization of American States. Insulza made this call while addressing the participants of the course "A Trade Agenda for the Americas" organized by the OAS, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the School of Law of the George Washington University.
