Panama's President Ricardo Martinelli Travels to Costa Rica Today

newsnviews2.jpg(Panama-Guide) By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - In his first trip abroad since taking office on 1 July 2009, Panama's President Ricardo Martinelli will fly to the capital of San Jose, Costa Rica this morning. Martinelli wants to meet with health officials in that country to learn about how they recently implemented a system of making medical appointments via telephone in Costa Rica's government health care system. During the recent political campaign culminating with his election, Martinelli promised to eliminate the need for patients to arrive sometimes as early as 4:00 am in the morning and to be forced to wait in long lines, just to make an appointment to see a doctor.
