Pycsa Would Ask For $1.5 Billion if Panama Nationalizes Highway

BERROCAL for La Prensa - The Mexican company Pycsa has done their calculations which they say the government of Panama would have to recognize if they intend to nationalize the Northern Corridor - $1.5 billion dollars. This, according to Charles Haddad, the Director General of Pycsa, when the Panamanian government has ordered an audit for the first time of the contracts for the Northern and Southern Corridors. Haddad said the figure comes from a formula established in the contract on return on investment through toll collection, discounting the impact of inflation from 1994 prices.
