Presidents to Panama Investiture
(insidecostarica.com) Panama - Several presidents and the Prince of Asturias have confirmed attendance at the July 1st presidential inauguration of Panama´s president elect Ricardo Martinelli, the Panamanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
Ministry spokesman James Aparicio informed presidents Alvaro Uribe (Colombia) and Oscar Arias (Costa Rica) have confirmed their attendance.
Participants include Felipe Calderon (Mexico), Fernando Lugo (Paraguay), Alvaro Colom (Guatemala) and Mohamed Abdelaziz (Democratic Saharan Republic) among other heads of state.
Egypt, Canada, Uruguay, Denmark and Cyprus will send top ranking delegations.
Mexican papal nuncio, Christhope Pierre heads the Vatican mission for the investiture.
The ministry also informed that accreditation of national and foreign press to cover the event is in process.
