Additional Details on Murder of Gringo in Punta Chame

newsnviews2.jpg(panama-guide.com) Jason Traffanstedt, 30 years-old, a citizen of the United States, was assassinated by several stab wounds in the yard of his home located in Punta Chame on Tuesday night, presumably by two unidentified subjects. According to statements made by relatives, the victim went out to the yard of his house after hearing the dogs barking incessantly, where he encountered and struggled with the two suspects, but he got the worst part. Lee Hagele, 77 years-old, who resides in the same house, decided to take Traffanstet to a private clinic located in Coronado in the District of Chame, but he was already deceased upon arrival. In a preliminary examination investigators from the Public Ministry found four stab wounds in the victim's body, one in the left side of the chest, another in the right armpit, one in the left forearm and one in the left ear. The Direction of Judicial Investigation (DIJ) is searching for a red (wine colored) car reportedly used by the assailants to escape the area. There is no permanent police presence in Punta Chame but police to patrol the area from time to time. The area is gaining popularity again with the construction of a new asphalt highway. With this murder of the foreigner, the community has been put on alert since it has been splashed by the wave of violence that covers the rest with the country. It is hoped the authorities will carry out rigorous investigations to find the causes of the homicide and to give an answer to the community for their security.
