Classic Rock Band to Play in Coronado at Todo al Carbon

If you have moved in Panama’s Pacific Beach communities over the last year, you might have met Sam Cenote, a high energy guitar playing dynamo from Chicago, who moved to Mexico to become a Mayan expert and ended up in Panama. While Sam still holds a place in his heart for Mayan culture, music has always been his first love, with which he is now happily reunited. Sam has put together a Classic Rock band called The Gorgons. “We play super energy charged versions of classic rock songs, with a twist - English and Spanish”, says Sam.

Cesar Paniagua, a well known Panamanian television personality, from the comedy series Parecen Noticias . Cesar plays bass guitar for Hammerhead (voted no.1 in Central American by Mexican MTV) is playing bass for the Gorgons.

J.B. Bloise, Panama’s Number 1 champion Motocross racer in 2008, plays drums.

Jose Chile, a flexible keyboardist with great vocals performs in various venues in Panama City, will be on keyboards and vocals for the Todo al Carbon gig.

Samuel Cenote, a long time musician from Chicago, played in the band which morphed into the Smashing Pumpkins. Sam is on guitar and vocals.

“Expect a full-on, charged, stadium rock group”, says Sam. “We are playing Todo al Carbon as part of our 2009 winter tour”. The Gorgons are also booked for “all the motocross events across Panama, culminating in huge stadium performance”. Saturday’s performance is a chance to see the group in a “smaller, more intimate setting”, says Sam.

The Gorgons will be playing Todo al Carbon this Saturday May 30th at 9:00pm. Cover charge for the event is $5.00, which includes 2 drinks.
