Solomon and Nadia Tencer, the forces behind Toronto's acclaimed Canadian Ballet Theatre, have announced they will be representing the Andromeda Country Club internationally.

The well-known Canadian couple have expressed their excitement at being a part of the project, an oceanfront vacation community on Panama's stunning Azuero Peninsula.

"They have bought a lot within Andromeda, and knew immediately this was something they wanted to be a part of," says Rafi Museri of Dekel Panama S.A., the company developing the 40-hectare project.

"The potential of this area is overwhelming, it's really palpable," adds Mr Museri.

Pedasí, once a remote corner of Panama, is now becoming the most sought out area in South America and a top world destination.

International superstars are quickly making Pedasí famous, as film, television and music celebrities discover this ecological paradise, many of whom are buying plots of land to build vacation homes on the stunning Azuero peninsula.

The Andromeda Country Club, an oceanfront vacation community at the southeast tip of the peninsula, is also attracting attention as an unparalleled ground-floor opportunity in Pedasí. The project promises to be of world-class quality with enormous investment potential, as early prices in the area remain well below world averages.

The Pedasí area is quickly carving out a niche in the international community, thanks to several first-class projects. The nearby Villa Camilla, an upscale boutique hotel, is quickly gaining notoriety as a hideaway for the rich and famous.

Mr and Mrs Tencer are famed for their patronage of the arts in Canada, and together produce and direct the renowned "Stars of the 21st Century" ballet galas around the world. The pair are no strangers to Panama; they have also recently bought into the upscale Buenaventura beach community, just west of Panama City, featuring a Nicklaus design championship golf course.

Both projects are designed by renowned Central American architect Ronald Zürcher, whose name has appeared on such iconic brands as the Four Seasons resort on Costa Rica's Peninsula Papagayo, the Hilton Papagayo, Mariott Los Sueños, and many more.

There has been much common interest between the two projects, says Mr Museri, which share several mutual clients. "Many people are finding the two locations very complementary, and of course, the Zürcher name is a major attraction," he says.

Ronald Zürcher's architecture has created distinctive spaces across Central America. From residential homes, to some of the biggest resort names in the world, his signature style stands out as a hallmark of natural materials, sweeping shapes and exquisite finishes.

The Andromeda Country Club is Pedasí's first big development. Slated to begin construction this year, it promises an elegant seaside lifestyle amidst the vibrant culture and natural beauty of Panama's heartland.

The community sits on a jut of land overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with expansive sea views. In the near distance sits Isla Iguana, just 20 minutes from shore, whose brilliant white sands owe to an extensive coral reef that surrounds the island, sheltering hundreds of marine species.

Two pristine sandy beaches front the project, Playa El Toro and Playa La Garita, dipping gradually into the warm Pacific waters. Homeowners will have the choice of five model homes to build on spacious home lots from 800 to 1500 square meters (8600 to 16,000 square feet), all of which feature ocean views.

The project is set to begin building this year with completion in 2011. Residents will enjoy the use of extensive recreational facilities including a beach club, restaurant and bar; a gym and luxury spa; basketball, volleyball and tennis courts; a business center; a kids playground; and several green areas, with parks and hiking trails centered on the two natural creeks that wind through the property.
