A Great Loss for Local Mahjong

On October 22, 2007 at 10:30 a.m., Karon Weidner, RN, PhD, died in an Atlanta, GA Hospital.

Karon was a regular at Tuesday morning and Friday afternoon mahjong groups and a favorite of all players.  Her wit and Georgia drawl were a powerful combination with her mahjong skill.

Despite a number of physical challenges, Karon always displayed a positive attitude.  She was looking forward to playing golf with husband, Joe, when she returned.

I spoke with her just last evening and she was her usual self.  We agreed that friendships made in Panama were special.  She missed her friends and asked me to send regards to all.

It is with regret that we will not hear from her again.
