newsnviews2.jpg(Prensa Latina) Integration process in Central America constitutes an opportunity to Panama, based on the country's competitive advantages and logistics platform, official sources said.

Johanna Hill, Deputy Minister of Economy in El Salvador, noted that Panama also constitutes a natural business center, with a very developed business sector.

On the sidelines of a forum convened by the Ministry of Trade and Industries to discuss the issue, the Salvadoran official said that with Panama's presence "we can be a more competitive region" and reach other markets.

Referring to the significance of Central American integration, Hill highlighted the region's potential, with a joint Gross Domestic Product of $109 billion.

If Panama joined El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Nicaragua, the amount would reach $132 billion.
